My Christmas Wish
November 26, 2008This project was suggested by a total kind stranger (I didn't even get his name) while I was in the waiting room at my doctor's office.
I really need some furniture for my livingroom but I can't even afford to buy a used crate right now! My true wish was to always have a white livingroom. However, that wish was put on hold when I had the kids. Now the kids are gone and I'm all alone trying to make ends meet on a small disability budget (sigh).
Anywayzzz...these days it's possible to get nice looking modern/contemporary home furnishings on the cheap. Twenty years ago you had to be a Trump or a Rockefeller (or at least related) to get nice mod furniture. I would be so happy to see my dream become a reality. I spend most of my time at home because I am to sick to really go anywhere. I have chronic migraines, severe asthma, and uncontrolled high blood pressure. I make things at home like gift baskets, scented lotion, and delicious cakes and sell them to make a little extra cash and that helps me to get a few extra things like cat food for two beautiful stray cats I took in about ten years ago. I found them when they were just brand new kittys. Actually one of them found me. Came right to my front door!
So back to this stranger...
I was looking at one of those home decorating magazines in my doctor's waiting room, and happened to come across a picture of a beautiful all white livingroom. I had said to the man sitting next to me (we'll just call him Bill for now) how nice the livingroom looked and how I always wished I could get my living room to look like that. So 'Bill' says to me, "hey, you only live once, so why don't you just go for it!" And that's how we got to talking about what I should do. I told 'Bill' I couldn't even afford to buy the magazine holder in the picture we were looking at. He laughed. Probably because he thought I was joking, so I laughed too. Then he told me to put my wish online and maybe Santa will drive up with a truckload of goodies for me on Christmas day. I laughed and said, "yeah, right!" We both laughed again and looked at the oictures throughout the rest of the magazine and then we both started exchanging our own ideas on how we would like to decorate our apartments...yadda, yadda, yadda.
I started thinking about what 'Bill' said to me on the way home from my doctors appointment and thought, why not? Everyone is online these days. Maybe I could put my wish online and have it come true. It's very possible I could make it happen. It's not like I'm asking for a cure for my migraines. That's like asking for a miracle.
This blog is the result of our conversation and 'Bill' if you are reading this (you know who you are, even if your name is not Bill), thanks so much for talking with me and giving me a renewed sense of hope.
So now that you all know my little story, maybe you will help me make my dream come true. Just click the donate button and give what you want via paypal, Mastercard, Visa, and thank you so much for caring.

Happy Holidays!
May you all get what you want this holiday season
